There are many homeowners who have need for squirrel removal, however they do not know who to call.
Once you find out you have an unwanted squirrel living in your home you do not want to hesitate on calling us to help you! The last thing you want to do is give the squirrels enough time to get comfortable up in your attic, as this can cause unnecessary damage to your home. They can chew through your wiring and dig holes in your sheet rock as they attempt to make your home a nesting area to have their babies and grow their families. They definitely should not be a welcome guest in your home. Bird Control : How to Get Rid of Birds
Bird Control is a very common service needed by residential and commercial properties. For commercial properties, birds have the potential to cause billions of dollars worth of damage annually. Most of the damage is caused from their droppings from when they roost on the building structures, the most common type of birds associated with this habit are Pigeons and Starlings. We offer many options for bird removal and repellant, including: bird netting, bird spiking, bird fogging, and many other out-of-the-box ideas for taking care of your bird problem.
Birds can also cause problems for homeowners, as they will start creating their nests in the vents on your home. You can expect to see this kind of behavior in the spring months as the birds are preparing a place to have their babies. With the high population of snakes in residential neighborhoods and surrounding areas it is common for homeowners to come across them in their daily lives. Snakes can get into homes, crawlspaces, garages, sometimes even cars. There are companies that do remove snakes, they will come and physically remove the snake or they may set traps. Rat Removal : Get Rid of Rats, Mice & Rodents
Rodents are a common problem in areas such as residential homes . They are creatures of opportunity and will enter a dwelling through the smallest opening to find food, water, and shelter. It is not uncommon to find them in attics, crawlspaces, mobile homes, cars, barns, and garages. If any signs of rodents are found a professional wildlife company should be contacted right away. The sooner the pest is taken care of the less likely an infestation will break out. Rodents breed and produce at a very high and fast rate which can wreak havoc on a home in a very short period of time. Rodents also have sharp teeth that grow quickly and will chew up wires, drywall, wood etc which could lead to a structure fire and will defecate all over the insulation in your attic which will in turn cost the homeowner money to have removed and replaced.
Bee Removal : How to Get Rid of Bees & Stinging Insects
A common issue in most areas are bees. There are multiple species and in most cases a homeowner is usually not dealing with a bee at all but a wasp or hornet colony. The Yellow Jacket being the most aggressive type of wasp, closely followed by the Paper Wasp. Bee or wasp removal is not a easy job and should be handled by professionals to avoid multiple stings. Raccoon Removal: Get Rid of Nuisance Raccoons
Raccoon removal is another common wildlife issue we handle here at Centurian Exterminators. Not only are they extremely intelligent animals, but they have adapted well to living in highly populated areas. Raccoons will do anything and everything to obtain food including digging up yards and scavenging through your trash.
Removing them is crucial as they will gain access to your attic for shelter especially when they have pups. Raccoons can do a lot of damage in a very small period of time. They should be removed as soon as you discover they have entered your home. Raccoons are responsible for more than $2 billion a year in insurance claims making them one of the most destructive animal. Some of the damage they are responsible for can include tearing up your ductwork, pulling down soffit, ripping up shingles, damage to your air vents, and leaving behind feces in your insulation. They also pose a threat to your family’s health. They carry numerous diseases that can be spread easily to humans.
Raccoon infestation is on the rise! Don’t let them take up residence in your home another night!
Bats have been found in many public places like the County Courthouse, many local churches, and numerous homes. Bat removal has been on the rise for the last 10 years and guano cleanup has significantly risen in the last 3 years. They should never be allowed to stay in your attic. As soon as you notice them you should contact a bat removal specialist. The cost to remove them is relatively low if handled early. The longer they are left the more guano builds up in your attic and the cost of removal goes up. It is important to have a full exclusion completed around your home as well as biohazard cleanup to remove the guano left behind.
How to Get Rid of Skunks
We get used to seeing all kinds of wildlife, some of them are cute and cuddly, others seem this way but in reality they absolutely are not! My favorite example of this cute little animal that you see and want to snuggle is a skunk. They are adorable, however they're genuine good looks are deceiving. Skunks have scent glands that are packed with a terrible smelling odor that can hit you up to 15 feet away! They don’t just spray this stink for no reason, it is their version of a kick to the face, or defense mechanism. Skunks are very protective of their babies, so if you have a family of them living under your deck you can imagine the smell that could permeate your entire home…inside and out! I don’t know about you, but that is definitely not a smell I want to wake up to.
Because we’ve had such a rapid increase in growth and development, these little adorable ninjas have relocated into residential areas and are invading our yards. The best way to get rid of the pesky guys is to trap and relocate them. Keep in mind, trapping skunks is not all fun and games. Remember that pungent kick in the face spray? Yep, if a skunk is in a trap, he is scared and will use his defenses…that stinky spray. Your best bet is to let the professionals handle your issue. We love this little guys so we do not harm them, just relocate them to a new woodsy home that they can frolic in. If you think you’re having a skunk issue..give us a call!
How to Get Rid of Opossums
Boca Raton is such a beautiful place! We’re home to the amazing main campus of FAU, the Office Depot and ADT headquarters. A few weeks ago I received a call from a gentleman who was sitting by the pool around 8 o’clock at night and saw something scurry across his yard. At first glance he thought it was some kind of science experiment gone wrong! It looked like a giant rat and a small dog had mated, and this was the product of that experiment. As he was explaining this to me, I knew right away it was an opossum. These little animals are marsupials, which means the mom carries her babies in a pouch, the babies can be as tiny as honeybees!
Opossums are scavengers with over 50 tiny little razor sharp teeth and you can clearly see their K-9s, kind of a scary sight right? As I was speaking to this customer he said that he turned his porch lights on and made some loud noises to try and scare this guy off and instead the opossum fell over as if it had died. I explained to the customer that this opossum was simply “playing opossum”. This is a defense mechanism, and I would advise not approaching one of these animals if this has happened. You might be asking yourself, “Why do I care if these guys have taken up residence in my yard”? That’s fairly simple, in Boca we love our beautiful landscaping, right? Opossums will dig up your yard, gardens and destroy your trash. No one wants to wake up to their trash cans knocked over and thee debris spread across the neighborhood! The solution we think is best is to trap and relocate them. We give them a new home away from people and back in their favorite natural habitat, that’s where we all want to be, right?! If you think you’re having a opossum issue, give us a call!
I remember when I was about six years old, I was playing in the front yard with my dad and this mini dinosaur looking creature was in the neighbor's yard digging a big hole, I went running towards it because I had never seen anything like that and my dad grabbed me and told me to never touch them! At the time, I did not know why, but now I do. Armadillos have very sharp claws and strong legs that help them dig. Their bodies are made of a strong material that’s essentially like body armor, and this is their main defense. They tend to dig holes and lay in them, because their stomachs are very tender.
Armadillos have become a huge nuisance. They dig up…everything! Their burrows can be very large and they are a danger to pets and children. Armadillos can also carry leprosy! They are the only animals (besides humans) that can live while having this disease. Armadillos have horrible eyesight, so they use a ridiculously good sense of smell to hunt and they eat insects and that is another reason for their incessant digging. When you’re out working in your yard, tripping over a big armadillo burrow and hurting your ankle. Not to mention having to redo all of your flower beds because they’ve been destroyed! The best solution to an armadillo issue is to call us! We are a humane company and we will trap and relocate them back to their natural environment!
